Look at me!

It's taken a long long time, but I'm now the 2nd best player at West Lakes!

Then I realised, everyone else is better than me - doh!

Heat & Inclement Weather Policy

Bowls SA is conscious of its responsibility to provide direction to its Member Clubs and Associations in relation to the conduct of the game of bowls under extreme weather conditions such as heat and humidity, rain, hail, high winds and squalls, lightning and prolonged heat.

As such Bowls SA has produced the

Head and Inclement Weather Policy

that applies to all clubs within the

Metropolitan Area.

A copy of the Heat and Inclement

Weather Policy can be found here.

Monday Club

Have you an hour or two of spare

time on a Monday morning? Come

along and help make repairs around

the club, gardening or general tidy up.

Come & join in at 8.30am every Monday (except Public Holidays). Coffee & home made cake/biscuits most weeks. You'll certainly be made welcome by those already putting there skills to use.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of

any club. You will find many

volunteers within your club who

give their time to carry out a

wide range of tasks so that

members and visitors can enjoy bowling and club facilities. Our volunteers include members of the Board of Management, members that assist with night owls, those attending the Monday Club to name but a few.

Please be appreciative of their efforts and if there is any way you can help when you are not “on the green”, undoubtedly the West Lakes Bowling Club will be pleased to welcome you on board as a volunteer.

Roster system

The roster system is in play from Round 1 with 3 members required to be rostered of for this round.

This follows on from last season where we started from the bottom (Z) and working up.

If a member is called up to play after being rostered off then that will still count towards their turn.

If everyone is available then it is possible that 7 members may be rostered in a round.

Life Membership

2 members have received life membership and very well deserved.

Congrats to Bob Rosey & Margaret Miller

Conditions of Play

The MBA have released the conditions of play for the 2021-22 pennant season.

The Chair, Match and Program

Committee has also advised that

there have been significant changes

for the coming season, mostly

arising from a recent President’s

meeting and from results of the

MBA survey with clubs.  Others are

from Match & Program Committee deliberations

related to the effects of COVID 19 on last season’s bowls and the potential for a similar disruption this season.  There has also been some relocation of Rules and rewording to improve structure.

The advice from the Chair, Match and Program Committee, listing the changes, can be found here.  A complete copy of the Metropolitan Pennant Conditions of Play 2021 / 2022 can be found here.

Members are encouraged to become familiar with the changes and Conditions of Play.
